Innovative organizations can take principles from the cognitive science of learning and use them to organize their own company’s training and development projects, designing technologies to support these projects. In this paper, we review some of the key principles of the cognitive science of learning as they can be observed in the way people think and act in different workplace activities. These key principles are summarized below, with some of the general ideas that we take up in the body of the paper outlined in their broadest form.
