What will it take to defeat malware?

A visiting doctoral candidate from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) talks about his work to rout malicious computer attacks.

Listen to computer scientists from around the world talk about how their projects are changing the way we communicate, learn, get around -- and live our lives.

Doctoral candidate Mihai Christodorescu, University of Wisconsin (Madison), talks about the challenges of psyching out malware:

"One thing I learned is that the number of distinct malicious behaviors that the malware performs is quite limited. Attackers have only a couple of goals in mind: They want to put your machine under remote control so they can send spam or spy on your activities."
