Research lab: India Research Lab

I am a Research Staff Member at IBM India Research Lab, New Delhi. I received my B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur and my M.S(R) from IIT Delhi (both in CS).

I work in the broad area of IT Infrastructure Resource Optimization. My research interests include algorithmic optimization, web server resource allocation, storage and most recently power management.

My current project is 'Power and Virtualization Management' where we leverage virtualization technologies to minimize the power in a data center. The project has led to the design of Emerald Server Consolidation Planning tool that provides administrators a consolidation plan and its Return On Investment (ROI).
We have also designed a runtime dynamic consolidation manager called BrownMap that ensures data centers can deal with reduced power availability.

Professional Activites: I have acted as a reviewer for many premier conferences and journals in this area like ICDCS, Middleware, ICS, ACM ToN, ACM ToIT, JPDC among others.

Currently, I serve on the PC of ACM/IFIP/Usenix Middleware 2009.
