Aleksandra (Saska) Mojsilovic manages the Probabilistic Analysis and Optimization group, part of the Business Analytics and Mathematical Science Department at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY.

The mission of the Probabilistic Analysis and Optimization group is to conduct leading-edge research in probability theory, applied math, statistical modeling/inference, and machine learning, and to apply our expertise to solve challenging problems in business analytics and decision support, for IBM and its clients. Our primary focus is in the area of Business Analytics, where we develop solutions that include project/portfolio management, demand forecasting, capacity planning, workforce planning and optimization, strategic planning, skill analytics and labor standards, market intelligence, and revenue management.

Prior to her current position, Aleksandra was a member of the Visual Analysis group at T. J. Watson, where she focused on image processing, computer vision models and indexing and retrieval of visual information. In earlier work, Aleksandra was a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories, where she was involved in the development of one of the first commercial engines for image retrieval.

Aleksandra’s Research interests include multidimensional signal processing, modeling, pattern recognition, with applications in business analytics, financial modeling, multimedia and human perception
