Bio

Aleksandra (Saska) Mojsilovic was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. She received her BS, MS
and PhD degrees from the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Yugoslavia, in 1992, 1994 and 1997, respectively. From 1994 to 1998 Aleksandra was a member of academic staff at the University of Belgrade, Department of Electrical Engineering. From 1998 to 2000 she was with Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies, Murray Hill, New Jersey. Aleksandra Mojsilovic is currently a Research Staff Member at the IBM T. J. Watson Center, Yorktown Heights, New York. Her main research interests include multidimensional signal processing, modeling, pattern recognition, with applications to business analytics, computer vision, medical imaging and human perception. Aleksandra is a recepient of two Best Paper Awards. In 2001, she received the IEEE Signal Processing Society Young Author Best Paper Award for a paper on semantic-based image retrieval (with J. Kovacevic, J. Hu, R. Safranek and K. Ganapathy). In 2002 she received the ECCV Best Paper Award for a paper coauthored with J. Gomes. Aleksandra Mojsilovic is a member of the IEEE Multidimensional Signal Processing Committee and currently serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Signal Processing Letters and IEEE Signal Processing Magazine.
