Boaz Carmeli

Mr Carmeli is a research staff member in IBM Haifa Research Lab. He holds B.Sc in Computer Sciences and is involved in the Definition design and implementation of IT solutions for Healthcare and Life Sciences projects. Mr Carmeli is the co-leader of the IBM Interoperable Healthcare Information Infrastructure solution. The IBM IHII solution is an open and standard based solution for Cross Enterprise Document Sharing compliant with the IHE ITI framework and the XDS profile. Mr Carmeli is currently involved in the definition and implementation of a Public Health Affinity Domain. The PHAD solution utilizes architectural concepts from the patient centric (e.g. XDS like) Interoperable systems and apply them to the public health domain.

During his scientific career at IBM Research Mr. Carmeli made contributions to several fields ranging from wireless networks for hand held devices, high throughput data networks and multicast protocols, business processes and integration systems for telco and healthcare companies.

During this period Mr. Carmeli was actively involved in various standard groups and was a member of the IEEE 802.15 personal wireless network group
