About me

Research Staff Member
Research lab: Watson Research Center (Hawthorne)
Dr. Cathy H. Xia is a research staff member at
IBM T.J. Watson Research Center,
specializing in performance modeling, analysis and stochastic control of distributed systems and communication networks.
She received her Ph.D. in
Engineering-Economic Systems and Operations Research
(now known as
MS&E)
and her M.S. in Statistics both
from Stanford University.
Dr. Xia is the current chair of the Professional Interest Community on Performance Modeling and Analysis (PMA PIC)
at IBM Research. She has served on the program committees of several major conferences including
SIGMETRICS and Performance 2004-2008.
Dr. Xia has received numerous IBM awards, including multiple IBM Research Division Awards and many Invention Achievement Awards. She is a member of
INFORMS, SIAM, and the IEEE Computer Society.
