Erik T. Mueller is a research staff member at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center. He is the author of the books Commonsense Reasoning (Morgan Kaufmann) and Daydreaming in Humans and Machines (Ablex). He received an S.B. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. His research focuses on automating commonsense reasoning to make computers more helpful to people.
