George Almasi is a Research Staff Member at IBM T.J. Watson Research. He has been working on various aspects of the BlueGene system software environment, including the MPI communication libraries.
George holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (2001). His thesis dealt with ways of optimizing and compiling Matlab code. He is also a graduate of West Virginia University (M.S. in Computer Science, 1993) and Cluj Technical University (M.S. in electrical engineering, 1991).
