Frank P Giordano is a senior development engineer with the Visual Technologies Department at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center. He received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut in December 1980 and joined the Image Applications/Solutions Group in 1982. As Project leader of image capture systems he has lead the development effort on various imaging solutions for digital libraries and retail marketplace. He was the lead designer engineer of the IBM Pro/3000 3Kx4K digital imaging system used at the Vatican Library, National Gallery of Art, Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institute, Hermitage Museum in Russia, and most recently Egyptian Museum, Cairo. His research interests include all aspects of high quality digital imaging and illumination systems.
