About me

Senior software engineer
Research lab: Watson Research Center (Yorktown)
I am a Senior Software Engineer with Natural Language Systems at the TJ Watson Research Center, joining IBM in 1999. I currently work with speech recognition, machine translation, and information extraction, and am also interested in compiler technology and high-performance computing. In addition, I am one of our group's Linux advocates. Previously I developed the natural language understanding engines for our dialog products. In my former life, I worked at Nortel Networks (formerly Bell-Northern Research), developing the research speech recognition engine there. I've been known to go out of my way to check people on the hockey rink.
