Research lab: Watson Research Center (Hawthorne)
I am the project lead for the SHER project (click here for details), which examines how to build highly scalable reasoning services for the semantic web. I have a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from Rice University, and was a tenured professor in cognitive psychology at Boston College, MA before moving to the computer industry. In my past work, I have worked on a diverse set of issues, such as:
In Computer Science:
(1) Semantic web technologies, such as RDF and OWL
(2) Analysis of the performance characteristics of enterprise applications.
(3) Creation of tools that use program analysis to automatically find hard-to-find bugs (the SABER project).
In Cognitive Psychology:
(1) Memory disorders (amnesia)
(2) The link between perception and memory.
