Yue Pan is a Research Staff Member and Senior Manager of Information and Knowledge at IBM China Research Laboratory. He is a major advocator of ontology technology and Semantic Web research in IBM. He and his team's research work focuses on knowledge representation, and the application of ontology technology in master data management, metadata management and business intelligence.
He is a member of ACM, IEEE and CCF (China Computer Federation). He is also committee member of YOCSEF (CCF Young Computer Scientists & Engineers Forum). Besides research, he also teaches classes on Semantic Web in Peking University and Tsinghua University. He has 12 patents filed and has published tens of papers in international conferences and journals. He is also among the Programme Committee for several international conferences and workshop.
Yue Pan received his Ph.D. in automatic control from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1996, M.S. in system engineering from Tianjin University in 1993, and B.S. in electronic engineering from Shandong University in 1990.
