Research:

I am interested in all aspects of programming language implementations, with a special emphasis on compilation for SIMD and multi-core systems. Currently I lead the effort to build a unified simdization framework in XL compiler that targets a variety of SIMD units, including the SPE (CELL), VMX (PPC970) and Dual FPU (BlueGene/L). My other on-going research are investigating compiler aspects of assist thread and speculative parallelization, and developing a single source OpenMP compiler that exploits both SPEs and PPEs on CELL.

Projects: CELL compiler, BG/L, NINJA

Prior research: automatic parallelization, pointer analysis, and compilation for Java
