I consider myself an experimental computer scientist.
My primary research interests are in performance analysis and tuning of
computer systems with a focus on automation.
I am currently looking at the performance issues of running Java on multicores.
I have done work in the analysis and optimization of
object-oriented languages and online feedback-directed optimization.
I am a member of the High Productivity Tools Group,
which was part of the PERCS Continuous Program Optimization project to
develop automatic performance analysis and tuning of Scientific applications.
I received my M.S. in Computer Science in May, 1989 from the Columbia University's School of Engineering and Applied Science.
