About me

Manager, Bioinformatics and Pattern Discovery Group
Research lab: Watson Research Center (Yorktown)
Greetings and welcome to my home page!
I am the manager of the Bioinformatics and Pattern Discovery group at IBM's Computational Biology Center. My group's effort revolves around Bioinformatics and the application of pattern discovery approaches to problems from molecular biology. In fact, we have developed quite a few algorithms and applications and you can read all about that by visiting my group's web site .
I am also a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where I have been teaching a Spring semester class and a Summer Professional class, both on Bioinformatics, since 2000.
I recently completed editing, with Prof. Greg Stephanopoulos, two volumes on "Systems Biology" for Oxford University Press. The volume titles are "Systems Biology: Genomics" and "Systems Biology: Networks, Models and Applications."
You can learn more about my professional activities, my research, my publications, patents, etc. by following the links on the left.
