Simona Rabinovici-Cohen is a research staff member at the IBM Research Laboratory in Haifa, Israel. She received her B.Sc. (1986) and M.Sc. (1989) in computer science from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. She joined IBM in 1993, and since 2000 she works on various projects related to healthcare and lifesciences including (1) new storage boxes for long lived and semi-structured data in particular for the healthcare and lifesciences domain, (2) clinical genomics and pharmacogenomics which enables research institutions and biopharmaceutical companies across the world to integrate, store, analyze and better understand genotypic and phenotypic data for medical research and patient care, (3) interoperable healthcare information systems and electronic health records. Previously, she worked on networking and telecommunication projects as well as on kiosk technology which is deployed in the Hermitage museum in Russia. Simona's areas of interest include storage subsystems, information management, XML and Java technology.
