I am a member of a 3D-chip processor architecture research team. Previously I was a member of the Blue-Gene Q supercomputer's processor architecture team, researching ideas for the BlueGene-Q processor.

My core area of research for 2 decades has been computer architecture, with related work in the areas of performance modeling & analysis, parallel processing, etc. Along the way I have briefly done research for a couple of years in the area of real-time multimedia transmission over the internet.

In my previous job, I founded Oracle's Real-Time Collaboration Research Group, and led applied research work in the areas of real-time transmission over IP networks, real-time image processing for video conferences, and real-time operating system issues for Oracle's enterprise web-conferencing product.

Before moving to industry, I was a faculty member at the Indian Institute of Science for 8.5 years. During this time I also held several short-term visiting positions, at MIT, Cray Research, ACRI-France, Univ. of Wisconsin, UPC Barcelona, USC-LA, Analog Devices India, Intel Microprocessor Research Lab, etc.
