Jennifer Q.Trelewicz is the Laboratory Director of IBM's Systems and Technology Laboratory in the Russian Federation. She was previously Executive Assistant to the Executive Vice President of Innovation and Technology, in IBM Corporate Headquarters in Armonk, New York, USA. Until July 2005, she was a research manager in the IBM Almaden Research Center, San José, California, USA, as well as the IBM Research Relationship Manager to Russia, CIS, and Eastern Europe. The department that reported to her in the Almaden laboratory worked in the development of algorithms for pricing models, process management, and business streamlining. Jennifer joined IBM in May 2000 in Boulder, Colorado, USA, where she was on assignment with the IBM Printing Systems Division (PSD), through September 2002, as the on-site liaison between the Research and product development divisions. Her technical work with PSD involved algorithm development for high-speed image compression, and technical solutions to critical customer situations.

Prior to her work at IBM, Jennifer was at Motorola from 1991-1995, developing voice processing products such as radios and telephones. She worked 1995-1998 consulting for clients in the semiconductor industry, designing protocols for machine automation networks, working tradeshows, and providing technical guidance in customer installations. She was Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (Adjunct) at the University of Colorado at Boulder from 2000-2002, and has worked as lecturer at Arizona State University (1999-2000) and Scottsdale College (2000). She has given recent invited lectures at State University of Management (Moscow), Moscow State University, and Stockholm School of Economics in St.Peterburg (Russian Federation).

Jennifer Trelewicz earned her Ph.D. in Signal Processing from Arizona State University in 2000, where her doctoral dissertation, “Coding and detection for a multi-dimensional digital data storage system” was funded by a NASA Graduate Student Researcher Fellowship. Jennifer also earned a Master of Natural Science degree in Mathematics (1999) and a Master of Science degree in Signal Processing (1995) from Arizona State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University (1991). She completed the “Micro MBA” program through IBM T.J.Watson Research Center in 2003.

Jennifer was elected to the IBM Academy of Technology in 2002. She is a senior member of IEEE, a member of the Phi Kappa Phi and Tau Beta Pi national honour societies, and was admitted to the Motorola Technical Society in 1994. She was an elected member-at-large of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) Board of Governors from 2004-2006, and has been a member of the IEEE Signal Processing Magazine Editorial Board since 2002. She is the holder of several technology patents and has published more than 25 technical articles in international journals and conferences.
