Short Bio
I'm a Research Staff Member in the Next Generation Distributed Systems department at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center since 2004. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2004 from UCLA, after 5 years (1999-2004) at IRL (Internet Research Laboratory) of UCLA Computer Science Department, working with Prof. Lixia Zhang and Prof. Songwu Lu. I got my M.S in Computer Science (1999) and B.E. in Automatic Control (1996), both from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.
Research Interests
My main research interests are in wireless networks, sensor networks, network security and distributed stream processing systems.
Sensor Network Research
I have worked on three main areas in wireless sensor networks, including scalable and resilient data forwarding, energy efficiency and security.
Data Forwarding
Energy Efficiency
Security
- Statistical En-route Filtering (SEF)
- Location Based Resilient Security (LBRS)
- Probabilistic Nested Marking (PNM)
Stream Processing Systems Research
- Collaborating, Autonomous Stream Processing Systems (CLASP)
- Negotiation Management in Stream Processing Systems
- Federated
Resource Discovery Service (ROADS)
