Our long term vision is - Enabling R3 delivery (right person in the right mode at the right time) of mission critical insights derived using a 360 degree view of the enterprise.
Specifically, we are building solutions that will seamlessly enrich business events using contextually relevant business insights
- generated by data and text analytics
- over all forms of accessible enterprise data accessible – structured, semi-structured and unstructured
- that will enhance all channels of customer engagement
We plan to study the pain points in verticals such as Contact Centers', FSS and Telecom and develop tailored solutions for these areas.
Background
Traditional data analysis relies on a person analyzing data in batches. First the data warehouse is updated, then queries can be run, and an analyst (or in some cases a business user) can then begin the search for insight. Often this leads to out-of-date information becoming available to user and results in attempt to fix problems long after they occur. E.g., sending a stock report to store manager after the close of business is too late to allow her to replenish the shelves. Thus, there is an ever increasing demand from customers for information/insights to be delivered with minimal latency from the relevant event. E.g., a daily balance of $10000 in a checking account should result in an email about better savings instruments and not a note in the quarterly statement.
Real time business intelligence (also called 3gBI - Third Generation Business Intelligence ) is the process of delivering information about business operations without any latency. In this context, real time means delivering information in a range from milliseconds to a few seconds after the business event. While traditional business intelligence presents historical information to users for analysis, real time business intelligence compares current business events with historical patterns to detect problems or opportunities automatically.
