IBM Research - Global Security Analysis Lab (GSAL)
IBM recognizes computer security as a key component of a successful e-business strategy. To that end, the Global Security Analysis Lab (GSAL) was formed in 1995 to advance computer security expertise within IBM. The group became widely known as IBM's "ethical hackers," although system penetrations are no longer the lab's primary focus.
The GSAL actually consists of two teams. One is based at the Watson Research Center, and the other at the Zurich
Research Lab.
