IBM Research

Interoperable Health Information Infrastructure

About this project

As we go through our lifetime, most individuals accumulate masses of medical data, including lab tests, medical history, images, treatments, and more. The primary challenge being addressed today by IBM is the development of an Interoperable, standards-based network for the secure exchange of healthcare information. Secure access to patient medical histories, test results, medication orders, and other data will enable leaders in the healthcare arena to make better informed decisions and conduct more effective research.
