SAFARI is being developed primarily at the T. J. Watson Research Center (Hawthorne), in the Programming Languages and Software Engineering Department, in the Program Analysis & Transformation Group, which is managed by Frank Tip.
SAFARI has its roots in a project called "Universal IDE" which was started by Chris Laffra.
