Whether you left IBM Research ten months or ten years ago, we feel you’re still part of what has made our labs so successful -- a rich community of thought. As we continue to evolve as a Research institution, we're trying to find ways of enlarging our open ecosystem for innovation through collaborative relationships with businesses, universities, other technology leaders and clients. Our IBM Research alumni are an essential part of that open ecosystem, and we would like to strengthen your involvement in our ongoing activities.
Many of you may have already attended one or more of our recent events. For instance, we've had an emeriti panel for our summer students; a panel discussion examining similarities between crafting poetry and writing computer programs; a holiday gathering; and a panel exploring the differences and similarities of architecture and design for buildings and technology.
We hope more of you will be able to join us from time-to-time, as schedules allow, to touch base with former colleagues and to let us know what it is you're working on these days. We would also welcome the opportunity to explore ways in which we might work together towards common goals.
