IBM Israel Research Seminars

Conversational Interactivity for Telematics (CIT) - an application for exploring future IBM technologies in car. It is also an environment for prototyping of conversational applications and a tool for exploring of multimodal interactions.
Multimodal interactions present attractive alternatives to many existing interfaces, which are “force fit” into a single modality. Despite the intuitive appeal of multimodal interactions, there are few well known multimodal systems available. I will describe an approach to design multimodal applications. The suggested approach reduces the complexity of creating multimodal applications, while also avoiding many of the common interface problems.
IBM ViaScribe - an application for real-time transcription, alignment, preparation of e-learning materials. New version of ViaScribe is Eclipse-based tool for real-time transcription display, editing and annotation. It will also have multimodal features to make the editing and annotation process more cost effective.
