Quality becomes more and more the crucial factor for success in learning, education and training (LET). That's not only the question of quality assurance, but of the contribution of LET to business objectives. The challenge is now to measure the results of training offers as well as their needs and impact on business results. Therefore, the holistic view on the whole LET life cycle is necessary to achieve the best cost-outcome-relationship. Total Quality Management is the way to address all relevant processes and to ensure continuous improvement. The new ISO/IEC 19796-1 is the first quality standard on quality management especially developed for LET. Its reference process model covers all processes of planning, production, realization and evaluation of LET projects and offers. The relevance, the implementation and the benefits of the ISO/IEC 19796-1 will be described as a suitable instrument for both sides: providers and users.

After the talk I'm very interested in an open discussion about the following questions:

  • How can quality management enrich your daily business in LET?
  • What are you expecting from quality management in LET?
  • How could the ISO/IEC 19796-1 support you?
